Hey readers,

There are just a couple of days left until the official relaunch of the First Cause paperback 🙂 It’ll take place at the Galt Hotel, in Louisville, Kentucky, at Fandom Fest 2012.  I will be seated on two panels, and also moderating a panel called “The Napster Effect: The Changing Landscape of Book Publishing.”  The new cover art looks great, as many of you know, and I’ll be showing off the new round of black First Cause t-shirts…I’ll also be signing books and celebrating. Come by if you’re in the Louisville area!!!

A note of thanks to my Kickstarter backers

Pasted from my kickstarter page. Without my Kickstarter campaign, and its backers, my FandomFest trip would not be possible…read below!

I am happy to announce that I have just ordered a box of books for FandomFest 2012 🙂

Months ago, when I was invited to FandomFest as a literary guest and panelist, I was excited and flattered–but I didn’t know if I’d be able to go. By way of happy accident, I discovered Kickstarter through my girlfriend; I thought about it and planned my campaign. Months later, I was spectacularly happy to realize that my campaign had been a success; a month after that, I am even more spectacularly happy to realize that my first convention trip as a speculative fiction writer is REALLY GOING TO HAPPEN.

Given the events of the past year and a half, I would be hard-pressed to overstate my gratitude for being able to attend my first convention and further expose First Cause to the world. My Kickstarter campaign–which is to say, you–have made it possible for me to do this.

Because of your generosity, my Kickstarter campaign exceeded its funding goal; this benefited my efforts greatly. The funds generated by this campaign have paid for not only the books for the relaunch, but many other necessary aspects of the convention trip–including my author’s table, my banner and posters for the convention table, and tshirts and flyers for the convention. Because of Kickstarter, I have an opportunity to make my first convention appearance a success.

My books are due to arrive friday; because we’re hitting the road the following thursday, I’m not sure how many of you will receive your rewards between now and the convention. I’ll be planning, finalizing other matters, and probably a nervous jumble. But your rewards will come before too long, and your books will all include my signature and thanks.

Next stop, Louisville.
